Monday Motivation: Eat Your Veggies! (Or Drink Them??)

Fun Fact: June is National Fruit & Vegetable Month. Let's celebrate!

We should all be consuming EXTRA veggies & fruits this month because we need to celebrate being healthy! In fact, many of us need to include more of these in our diet to help counter all the inflammation our bodies go through. Chronic inflammation increases the risk of Type 2 Diabetes & heart disease. To combat this, avoid fried foods, pastries, soda, and excess red meat. Another way to help fight against inflammation is eating fruits and vegetables. See the list below!

Fruits/Vegetables that fight inflammation:

  • tomatoes

  • leafy greens (spinach, kale, etc.)

  • strawberries

  • blueberries

  • oranges

  • apples

What do all of these things in the list above have in common? Polyphenols! The anti-oxidant component of these foods help reduce the inflammation and chronic stress our bodies go through. These are just some of the things we should start including in our diets more frequently. It's also important to include nuts, chicken, fatty fish, and extra virgin olive oil when cooking.

Another option: Fruits & Greens

Some people really don't like the taste of vegetables. Try drinking your fruits and vegetables instead with this awesome powder mix from Nutridyn:

Fruits & Greens has the anti-oxidant power of 20 servings of fruits and vegetables. You heard that right - 20 servings!! While this doesn't replace our need to continue eating fresh vegetables and fruits, it definitely helps our body fight chronic inflammation and stress. Clink the link below to learn more!
